The
EYE BEAM™ is a supplemental self-arming
audible warning system that alerts the officer of movement ne ar the
driver's side of the vehicle. The EYE BEAM™
contains a sensor, mounted on top of the spotlight, which emits 3
invisible laser beams, up to 35', that monitor the area where the
spotlight is aimed. The EYE BEAM™
self-arms when the spotlight is turned on and works by positioning the
beam of light from the spotlight into the outside rearview mirror of the
pulled over vehicle. If one of the beams is broken, an alarm will
sound and LEDs will flash to warn the officer. The officer can then
react to the warning appropriately. In the event that the officer
does not want the EYE BEAM™
to arm, there is a convenient switch mounted on the head of the EYE BEAM™
that allows the officer to turn off the sensors. However, for the
officer's safety, the next time the spotlight is turned on, the system
self-arms.
